A pipeline is in the works to bring refined products from Angola to Zambia. According to Zambia’s investment promotion agency, a Zambian firm plans to build a pipeline from Angola to the capital city of Lusaka after Angola completes the construction of its Sonaref Refinery in Lobito.
Basali Ba Liseli Resources will construct the multi-petroleum product pipeline and other ancillary infrastructure the agency said.
Zambia’s only refinery, the 24,000 bpd Indeni refinery cannot process pure crude oil from Angola.
The investment promotion agency and Basali Ba Liseli Resources are expected to sign an agreement for the project on April 13.
