SouthWest Energy has completed its 1,640 line km 2D survey in Ethiopia’s Ogaden Basin. The survey, completed in nine months, was conducted by GII geophysics company.
GII submitted the seismic data it collected from the South West concession in Degehabur zone of the Ogaden Basin to SouthWest Energy and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Mines.
The survey will be interpreted by geophysicists to establish the locations with the most potential to encounter hydrocarbons during drilling.
SouthWest is currently in the process of acquiring a drilling rig and expects to spud its first well year before the end of the year.
