The Tinrhert-Ohanet field development project in the Illizi wilaya should enter its production phase by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2022, with a production capacity reaching 5 million M3/day of gas natural, a statement from the Sonatrach group said on Wednesday.
The CEO of the Sonatrach group, Toufik Hakkar, paid a visit to the wilaya of Illizi in order to become fully updated with the progress of project, Sonatrach said on its Facebook page.
Hakkar began his visit by inspecting the construction and development works at the “Isarene” project location which are 65% behind in terms of the progress of the works compared to what had been planned by this time (94%). The statement added that the production capacity of this project will reach 10 million M3 / day of natural gas, 1,800 tons / day of condensates and 1,600 tons / day of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
After a presentation on this project, the CEO instructed project managers to “catch up on the delay and to make more efforts to meet the new deadlines to allow this project to enter the production phase during the first quarter of the year 2023.”
Sonatrach also iterated that the delay in the realization of this project led to the decision to terminate the partnership contract, the total financing of the project by the oil company and the use of national subcontracting.
Hakkar also visited the Tinrhert-Ohanet deposit development project, where he followed a detailed presentation on the progress of the work of this project, which reached 88%, which allows its entry in service during the second quarter of the year 2022, with a production capacity of 5 million M3 / day of natural gas, 750 tons / day of condensates and 450 tons / day of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
