Algerian Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, inaugurated a new separation and compression center in Hassi Guettara, one of the country’s projects carried out with a view to increasing production.
The facility, has a daily treatment capacity of 60,000 thousand barrels of oil and 4.3 million cubic meters of gas, as well as the recovery of associated gases from the separation and compression operation which will supply wells of 10,000 cubic meters for each well, in order to increase their pressure.
In addition to the facility inauguration, the Regional Directorate of Hassi Messaoud hosted this year the official festivities celebrating the 52nd anniversary of the nationalization of hydrocarbons (February 24, 1971) and the 67th anniversary of the creation of the General Union of Algerian Workers (February 24, 1956). The festivities of this double celebration took place under the aegis of Prime Minister Benabderrahmane, members of the Government, and in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of Sonatrach Toufik Hakkar, the civil and military authorities of the Wilaya of Ouargla as well as the representatives of the social partners and the executives of the company.
The double anniversary celebration ceremony was marked by the tribute paid to national personalities who contributed to the outcome of the decision to nationalize hydrocarbons. Thus, members of their family received honorary certificates in memory of their late parents.
Sonatrach workers, having demonstrated a high level of involvement in the accomplishment of their missions, were also honored on this occasion.
A Sonatrach statement read, “The Prime Minister, during his speech, did not fail to recall the role of workers in the hydrocarbons sector, which enabled the country to acquire significant capacities to lay the foundations for a gas and oil industry. able to compete on an equal footing with hydrocarbon-exporting countries.”
