Sonatrach Enacts Anti-Corruption Policy

The Chairman and CEO of the Sonatrach Group, Toufik Hakkar, has signed into effect the Anti-Corruption Policy of Sonatrach, as well as a related Code of Conduct, in accordance with the requirements of the international ISO standard 37001, relating to the anti-corruption management system (SMAC).

 The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab and was held at the Sonatrach headquarters.

Sonatrach’s anti-corruption policy includes the company’s principles and commitments in this area. It aims to put in place control and prevention mechanisms that prohibit corruption and contribute to promoting a culture of ethics in the various transactions and activities of Sonatrach

Hakkar also signed the Code of Conduct for the fight against corruption. This code provides guidance and establishes principles and requirements for compliance with the provisions of anti-corruption laws and it is applicable to all of its employees, partners, and suppliers.

Sonatrach says that it seeks to establish the principle of transparency and good governance, according to international standards in the fight against corruption, through its adoption of the anti-corruption policy and code of conduct, the first of its kind in Algeria, to strengthen ethics within the company.
