The Sonatrach group has achieved “positive” results in terms of exploration, renewal of reserves, and commissioning of new gas projects and infrastructures, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, its CEO, Toufik Hakkar, said.
The efforts made by Sonatrach have made it possible, despite the negative impact of the health crisis, to achieve positive results, particularly in terms of exploration and renewal of reserves, commissioning of new gas projects and infrastructures and export, for the first time in the decade, of diesel and gasoline ”, underlined Mr. Hakkar in a message of congratulations addressed to the collective of the group as well as to the whole of the Algerian people on the occasion of the celebration of the 59th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty.
Sonatrach has also initiated major projects and multiplied the implementation of structuring projects which will help to institute profound and beneficial changes in the production and exploitation of hydrocarbons, the development of petrochemicals, but also in the methods of governance and human resources management, said the head of the public group.
These projects constitute “encouraging indicators which encourage us to be optimistic and to approach the future with serenity,” according to Hakkar.
He also mentioned the projects undertaken by Sonatrach in terms of governance and human resources management with the aim of accelerating the modernization of the group in order to reach the standards adopted by the major energy groups of its size.
Mr. Hakkar explained that the “major concern” of Sonatrach, for the coming years, “is to achieve the qualitative leap essential to maintain and consolidate its role as a locomotive of the national economy and a leading company in the transformation process. of its industrial fabric and its upgrading of very high standards of governance and operational efficiency.”
Hakkar also stressed that the company will increasingly invest in the fields of new and renewable energies.
