Six Gone in Angolan Helicopter Crash

A helicopter crash offshore Angola has left six people dead. The crash took place when a helicopter transferring workers to a Chevron platform went down in the ocean.

First reports from Angola has four people confirmed dead, while the remaining two were reported missing after the helicopter crashed as it was travelling to the Tombua-Landana offshore oil platform.

Following the crash, CABGOC (Chevron’s Angolan subsidiary), said it is conducting an incident investigation and a number of vessels are currently involved in locating the cockpit data recorder and aircraft debris.

The helicopter, a Bell 430 twin-engine light medium helicopter, was owned by Bell Helicopters.
