A new fuel storage and distribution center was commissioned in the industrial zone of Sidi Bel Abbes, Algeria on July 3. The new facility covers an overall area of 21.7 hectares and increases fuel storage capacity by an additional 180,000 cubic meters, to reach a total volume of 188,150 cubic meters.
This increase in the level of storage will make it possible to increase fuel autonomy from eight days to 30 days, which will place this new center in second position in terms of storage capacity behind the El Khroub facility. This new center will be operated according to the most advanced standards, particularly in terms of automation and remote control.
The Sidi Bel Abbes facility will meet the demand of the West and South-West region of Algeria including the areas of Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Saïda, El Bayadh, Béchar, Adrar, Tindouf, Laghouat, and Ghardaïa.
The Chairman and CEO of the Sonatrach Group, Toufik Hakkar and the Chairman and CEO of NAFTAL, Abdelkader Chafi commissioned the facility in the presence of the mayor of Sidi Bel Abbes, Samir Chibani.
