Hundreds of protesters demanding jobs have shut-in one of Tunisia’s main oil pumping stations in the south of the country. Demonstrations have been ongoing for weeks with the protestors demanding jobs and the development of the region.
The protesters forced their way into the remote El-Kamour production site just south of Tataouine, unphased by the presence of army personnel protecting petroleum installations. According to wire reports, the protesters chanted, “Tataouine does not give up” and sang the national anthem.
