According to a Perenco posting, this week the company inaugurated its Barge Training Center. A LinkedIn statement read: “In keeping with its spirit of adapting to specific needs, Perenco has created a mobile training center that will travel between Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, DRC and Gabon to offer tailor-made learning programs.
“The training program created by and for Perenco within the barge training center aims to develop everyone’s skills and to maintain a high level of safety for all.
“The training courses are designed for Perenco’s E&P employees and are set up through different modules with 6 main themes: On-site Behavior, QHSE, Production, Mechanics, Electricity, Instrumentation and Well Operations. The trainees follow theoretical courses and participate in role-play scenarios during practical work in groups. A quiz at the beginning and the end of each day allows the training center team to tailor the technical content taught on the barge in real time, to ensure that the trainees’ understanding of the course is optimal.
“Since September, more than 500 people have already been trained.
“We are very proud of this project, which will allow all the personnel of the Central African sites to be trained continuously on Perenco’s know-how for many years to come.”
