Nigeria’s Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has announced the extension of the 2020 Marginal Field Bid Round. The bid round is now open for submissions until June 21 to indigenous companies and investors interested in Exploration & Production business in Nigeria.
A total of 57 fields located on land, swamp and shallow offshore terrains are on offer. The exercise, which will be conducted electronically, will include Expression of Interest/ Registration, Pre-qualification, Technical and Commercial bid submission and bid evaluation.

The new timeline will see the evaluation and submission of reports take place from June 22 through July 5. The announcement of pre-qualified applicants will come on July 5. Pre-qualified applicants will be able to purchase data from July 6 through August 16; application and processing fees are also payable during this time period.
Companies, including their promoters, indebted to the Federal Government will not be allowed to participate in the newly launched bid round for marginal oilfields, the Department of Petroleum Resources has said.
