Libyan Oil Institute Opens Training and Development Center and Oil Laboratory

The opening ceremony of the Training and Development Center and Oil Laboratory Studio at the Libyan Oil Institute took place on June 6 with a tour of the facilities by NOC Chairman Eng. Mustafa Sanalla and accompanying executives. Chairman Sanalla cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony.

The visit included the various facilities and departments of the Institute, among which were the laboratories of the Petroleum Engineering Research Department, where the specialists provided full explanations about the workflow mechanism and the tests that are conducted in the laboratories of the department requested by the sector companies to develop their oil fields.

The drilling fluids section was also inspected and its activities were introduced by specialists in the field of drilling fluids. After that, the reservoir fluids section was visited and the specialists listened to an overview of the pressure, volume and temperature tests and their impact on the reservoir fluids, among other specific technical capabilities of the department. To determine the minimum vibrational pressure of the reservoir fluids at the reservoir conditions, a visit to the oil and gas distillation laboratory was also visited.

Sanalla commented: “The media studio at the Institute should be used optimally to highlight the important role played by the Institute for all workers and specialists in the sector and those interested in the oil industry, as well as to introduce the capabilities that the Libyan Oil Institute possesses, in terms of human, scientific and technical, in addition to the laboratory services it provides through its laboratories and advanced equipment, which are run by Libyan cadres of a high academic level, stressing at the same time the full support of the National Oil Corporation at all levels to the Libyan Oil Institute and its employees, to be one of the most important and prominent scientific arms in the Libyan oil sector.”
