Jubilee Field Approaches Plateau Capacity

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Tullow Oil Corp. and its partners on the Jubilee Field offshore Ghana have seen production from the field rise considerably over the past year and current production is averaging just shy of its original estimated plateau capacity. Over the past three months the field has been producing between 110,000 and 115,000 bpd.

The Jubilee field began production in December 2010 and at the time plateau production of 120,000 bpd was expected to be seen by 2011, and then by mid-2012 however, both these targets were missed. The partners over the past year or so engaged in a remediation program to up the field’s production flow.

“The field is currently doing between 110,000 and 115,000 barrels a day,” Dai Jones, president of Tullow’s Ghana operations, told Reuters. Jones said Jubilee has produced about 62 million barrels of oil since its start-up, adding that the field’s response to the remedial work had been encouraging.
