The FPSO Dália (floating production, storage and transfer unit) installed in Angola’s Block 17 reached a historic production value in July this year: 1 billion barrels of oil. This is the cumulative total since production began in 2006.
Along with production, which remains one of the most consistent, FPSO Dália has so far not recorded any work incidents or – as is commonly said in the oil industry – no lost time injury (LTI), according to ANPG. “
In the case of complex deep offshore operations, it means that the contractor group in Block 17 has always been committed to the safety and health of its workers in the long term, as well as to the quality and efficiency of its operation. This contractor group is operated by Total E&P Angola, also including the oil companies Equinor, ExxonMobil, BP and Sonangol P&P.
Dália has 84 wells and currently produces around 142 thousand barrels of oil / day, having registered in April 2010 its maximum daily production record of 288,872 barrels,” an ANPG statement read
“We are truly satisfied with Golden Block 17, which we will continue to explore safely until 2045, thanks to the extension of the license that was recently granted to us by the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels. It is a successful team work, with good results, involving professionals from onshore and offshore, which is why we are truly proud of this achievement and of this milestone in the national oil industry,” stated the General Director of Total E&P Angola, Olivier Jouny.
ANPG’s President, Paulino Jerónimo, adds that “this is a figure that confirms the vitality of the Angolan oil industry and that milestones such as this, reached by the contracting groups operating in Angola, demonstrate that the sector continues to work towards a well future successful.”
It should also be noted that the accumulated production of Block 17 to date is about three billion barrels of oil.
