Forcados Light Makes the Grade

Tuesday, February 7, 2017

Nigeria has a new grade of crude, Forcados Light, released by Seplat from its OMLs 4, 38, and 41. The new grade replaces the regular export grade Forcados Blend.

Forcados Light is shipped through a terminal at Nigeria’s Warri refinery. Seplat has confirmed that the new crude is being sent from the four fields via a 100,000 bpd pipeline to available storage tanks at the Warri refinery and sold to its offtaker, Mercuria, at the plan’s jetty.

Forcados Blend has been shut in for some time due to attacks on the pipeline that transports it to the Forcados terminal operated by Shell.
