Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla and Technip Energies CEO Arnaud Pieton met during ADIPEC where they discussed the progress of the new petroleum refining and processing projects Technip is implementing along with Enppi and Petrojet.
The two projects include the expansion projects of the MIDOR refinery in Alexandria and the ANPEC complex for the production of diesel in Assiut.
El Molla stated that these projects come within the framework of the petroleum sector’s strategy to increase refining capacity, develop and raise the efficiency of existing refineries, and add new manufacturing processes to transform low-value products into high-value products.
The executives also discussed COP27 and the participation of Technip Energies in one of the sessions for Decarbonization Day, which will include the company’s review of its efforts and success stories in implementing actual projects in the field of carbon reduction, specifically in the carbon capture and storage space.
Pieton pointed out Technip’s keenness to enhance cooperation and transfer expertise with the petroleum sector in these fields, praising the fruitful cooperation with petroleum sector companies in the implementation of major petroleum projects
