Egypt’s 2021 Bid Round closing date has been extended until the end of September, a one-month extension to the original August closing date. Tarek El Molla, the country’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, made the announcement during an event, citing the decision was made in consideration of the requests from international oil companies (IOCs) for more time.
Egypt’s 2021 Bid Round features 24 blocks in the Gulf of Suez, Western Desert, and the Mediterranean on offer. Since 2014, Egypt has signed 99 E&P agreements valued at $17 billion, according to El Molla.
