Djibouti’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yonis Ali Guedi, on a trip to Cairo, has agreed with his counterpart Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, to form a joint task force to identify cooperation opportunities in the petroleum sector.
Ali Guedi made the visit to Egypt to explore collaboration opportunities and discuss the use of Egyptian expertise in Djibouti’s oil and gas industry. El Molla, for his part, was most supportive and emphasized that Egypt will provide all facilities and expertise for oil and gas industry in Djibouti.
During the meeting, El Molla referred to the MoU that the two counties signed in the energy field in February 2022, highlighting the necessity to build on it. He reviewed the capabilities and experiences of the Egyptian petroleum companies in the fields of designing and establishing petroleum projects, technical and mechanical support, as well as logistics.
