Botswana’s coal-fired 600-MW power plant will not be sold back to the firm that built it,according to a Reuters report. The troubled plant was built by China National Electric Equipment Corporation (CNEEC), but government documents seen by Reuters say that the plant will instead be sold to China Machinery Engineering Corp. (CMEC).
The documents, which were from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, said that the government would begin negotiations with CMEC.
