Organized by the World Petroleum Council and Canadian Organizing Committee, the Congress will take place in Calgary, Canada on 17-21 September 2023. The triennial Congress attracts the highest-level industry and government leaders from around the world, including heads of state, ministers of energy and C-suite executives. More than 100 countries, 50 ministerial delegations, 700 expert speakers, 800 media and 15,000 delegates are expected to participate in the Congress, which will also feature the World Petroleum Exhibition comprising over 200 international exhibitors.

“The global energy landscape will change more in the next one to two decades than it has done in the previous 100 years as the demand for sustainable, affordable energy sources increases. This Congress will focus on the Energy Transition and address the challenges bought about by significant structural changes to the energy systems that it will entail. We are delighted that our Congress Program Committee has developed 17 key topic areas for the Technical Forums to showcase innovative approaches to energy challenges as the world seeks to address the growing demand for all forms of energy” said Dr Pierce Riemer, Director General, WPC.

We welcome papers from technical energy professionals to share their personal insights and knowledge as well as innovative technologies and strategies which will help to shape our decarbonized future.

To recognize the scientific, technological and professional achievements across the value chain of the oil and gas sector, authors are invited to share world-class solutions to industry challenges by submitting abstracts for paper and poster presentations at http://www.24wpc.com by 7 July 2022. The main topic blocks of the Congress will cover transition in exploration and production, transition in refining, petrochemicals and products, transition in gas and transportation as well as leadership challenges in transition providing a wide spectrum of issues to be covered by global industry experts.
